Hi, Seeing as I got no responses here, does anyone have a suggestion which part of the forum would be best suited for my question? Thanks, Aled

just connect midi out for the master pc to midi in of the slave. On Master: In Reaper go to "Insert - SMPTE LTC/MTC Timecode Generator".A new track with a timecode will open - u have to stretch it all over the project. In the track routing choose the EMU Midi output. On Slave: On the transport play button - right click - Sync menu opens. Enable sync and choose the right input. No both PCs are synced. To send back the audio i would use the SPDIF out of the slave to the SPDIF in of the master. U should use the EMU mixer for latecy free monitoring. Then when u r done u just record it to a track in reaper. (or render on slave and import) You can even use the keyboard/controllers of the master to play VSTi on the Slave.

Thanks for all your replies, much appreciated. Reaperdeeper: Thanks, that sounds like the most sensible way, really. It's a shame that I'd have to sacrifice the 1st PC's SPDIF inputs in order to monitor from the 2nd PC, but there we go. Come to think of it, If I did need to monitor the two PCs simultaneously I could sum their outputs with a small mixer, as mentioned in my first post. A rather clumsy approach, but there if needed! After tracking in the second PC, I'd be needing to export the files as individual tracks into the 1st PC's project, so after the initial tracking, there'd be no need for the 2nd PC really (unless I needed to record a 2nd batch of 24 simultaneous tracks...!) Again, I'm very grateful for the advice here, and I look forward to trying it out! Aled

I belive you should look into Reastream. You should be able to use both over LAN. Though I have not used it.

Problem is, i can't see a way to use a 'track' as input to the sync dialog, or does MTC all inptuts mean stuff that ends up on tracks too? There could be a 're-route' work around, but i hate to think where the latency is going to go with this.
