power steering & expansion tanks removal

Ineed to replace my thermostat housing but am unable to get at it the power steering tank is in the way,how do I remove itwithout draining the system .and what tools do I need.

Hi, don't know about the power steering but I replaced my expansion tank at the weekend so I can explain that bit (at least for a 2.3 turbo engine, I assume yours will be similar enough). I jacked up the front, popped the axle stands in place and put a clean bucket under the coolant drain plug which is a 6mm hex 'bolt' visible through a hole underneath the front nearside. I drained just enough coolant to drop the level below the expansion tank, and closed the drain plug. I lifted the tank out, undid the 2 jubilee clips holding the top return pipe and bottom pipe, unplugged the level sensor plug and pulled out the sensor itself. I popped the new tank on, put back all the bits and then topped the level up slowly with what was in the bucket. HTH, Pete
