Problem with Pioneer 104 and windows xp

My MS 6163 (iBX440 chipset) required the burner to run in PIO mode, while my new Aus P4B533-E can run it in DMA mode. It can't only be the chipset. Some KT133A users have reported that DMA works, others need PIO. Maybe it's mainly the mainboard which is important as to whether DMA works or not on this drive.

I use an Abit KG7 mobo, it's an AMD760-VIA686B hybrid chipset, works flawlessly in WinXP with DMA on.

I hope ur not trying to erase DVD-RW with the version of nero that won't work with DVD-rw (I think its v5.9.9.0 that doesn't like dvd-rw)

I don't remember what I was using when I had the problem. I no longer use Nero for DVD (just for CD) but it's good to be aware that there is a problem with one of the versions of Nero. Thanks for pointing it out.

it is 5.5.9.0 that don't work with dvd-rw !
