Problems with xvid movies. 2/3 unsolved.

Sorry, you're another one who probably ruined his system by installing the Nimo codec pack. If you search for 'Nimo' on the forum you'll see that many people have strange problems with it AND that it can't be easily deinstalled. Before re-installing Windows, try if installing ffdshow () and setting it up to play all your files helps. If not, well, perhaps you've just downloaded some very rotten encodings. To be sure, encode something yourself with XviD's default settings and see if this works well - otherwise, hey-ho; reinstalling you go. :rolleyes: BTW, it is NOT a question of CPU power; XviD works fine with high res on my Celeron 466 and on a friend's PII-400, too.

@.escobar -> every xvid movie that i own stack, ive got 1,2 duron. on my 500 p3 they stuck even more. that is kinda wicked if they really need as much power as .. that. XviD movies has never sucked on my Celeron 900 ;) (without B-frames and/or QPel). Hi iago, on second thoughts .escobar's problem it really sounds like a bad encoding. Perhaps. escobar should try to extract the sound with VDub for example; if the mp3 still sounds like junk that definitely points to a really, really amateur encoding.
