Your only DAW

For MY projects yes. I use SX3 for old stuff and for working with a few other close friends (Mac). Regards, David

Hi, I use a bunch of stuff but am leaning more toward Reaper as my pc daw "go-to". Reaper is replacing Sonar. I still use Power Tracks for basic "tape recording" and seeing the guitar fretboard and analyzing audio stuff ... it just does a lot of unique magic stuff. I use Band In A Box to quickly help my friends (who aren't super musicians like myself) get their song ideas down fast. It works well for that. Reaper of course has the magic routing capabilities that surpass just about anything in our known universe. Also, I have a "mac-pc" which has logic on it and I have to say that I LIKE it a LOT but since I do most of my stuff on a desktop pc, I do not use it that often. Such a shame. Lasty , for "mobile" live set recordings (recording only 2-4 channels), I use my 'ole korg d-1200 digital recorder and transfer the wav files to my computer for editing. Mighty fine indeed! Well...almost. I refer to myself as a "recovering ACID user" (man, that sounds a lot worse than it is - I really mean Sony ACID Pro), and I've pretty much divested myself of it, except when I'm looking for a loop in my loop library - I've got over 4,000 loops (mostly drums), and the Media Manager in ACID (the same one is used in Vegas) is hard to do without. You can quickly search and preview loops with it. I use it to locate any loops I need and then copy the source WAV files into my REAPER project folder. (I wish I could figure out a way to launch the Media Manager as its own application!) And, in those rare cases where I need to perform some surgery on a WAV file, I'll use Sound Forge. So, apart from editing audio files and searching for loops, I use REAPER for everything.

I use Reaper for all of my own stuff, and only keep Sonar around for compatibility with some ad houses, and friends I work with who use it. I still use Soundforge and Vegas too when appropriate.
