octopre upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my converters and mic pre at the same time would the octopre be a good input device (A/D) then find a good D/A converter to here the true sound that would be but on the CD any advice would help me don,t know what to look for so thank now for the help

thanks agin for your input that is why i thought that i may be able to get the octopre for the input (A/D) then get something else for output (D/A) with a good clock as well just don,t know what i should be looking for by the way around $1,000 per device all i think i need on the D/A is 2 channel out. Right now i run all my stuff out channels 1&2 of the digi 001 and i notice the quality is very poor with the 001 D/A what is a good sounding D/A converter i can use (2 channels ) around $1,000 with a good clock thanks agin

I just hooked up my brand new RME ADI-8 Pro (same as DS minus 96 kHz, but hey, I'm not running an 002 anyway). The difference in sound was immediately obvious- much clearer and warmer, characteristics ocassionally desirable in a recording.

I think that I am not sure that i know what i need i know that i need a good micpre at least 2 then i need a good D/A for output the lucid would do that right, but for the inputs what should i do for mic,s and not using the 001 for my micpre also thought that a good clock would help the sound as well if poss. can give me the web site to the equi. hope this is not confusing i am already in the land of the lost when it coms to A/D D/A conv. & clocks

I just picked up a Rosetta A/D converter two days ago. After recording direct, using only a Pod, through the digi pres and converters, then using just the Rosetta, and bypassing the digi, I compared the difference. There was significant improvement using the Rosetta! Much smoother, sounded more like a record. How come nobody warned me about this obsessive need to upgrade?

how did you hook up the rosetta to the 001 and what outs are you using
