Free or cheap REX player?

Is there a cheap or free VSTi for playing back REX loops? I want a reliable tool with good stretching+pitch shifting quality. To trigger REX loops. Thanks

I got Reason-Adapted bundled with my Korg Padcontrol. Counting the fairly low cost of the Padcontrol I see the bundled software as a free bonus. There are several other hardware items that come bundled with it so if you are in the market for something then it might be something to look for ;)

evan, Sorry I misunderstood your question. Technogremlin may be on the right track... how about using Reason Adapted and then Rewire it into Reaper?? Not exactly what you were looking for, but maybe a possibility. ;) :cool:

I am a little hesitant to have to run a 2nd app alongside reaper. Nothing beats saving everything inside a project with a single save button :) Having said that, is Reason Adapted anything special when it comes to REX loops? I know there's free VSTi which I haven't explored yet. There's Shortcircuit 1, Yellow Tools Independence and UVI workstation. I think all three claim to work with REX files (hopefully without any conversion). I will look into them at some point. Wondering if anyone else uses them, or any other that I may have missed.

I have it installed on my machine and it works fine with no iLok issues. I dont run any other software that requires an iLok. I did write to them however and asked if they would ever consider their selling their libraries sans iLok! Cheers Jed

I installed... Shortcircuit 1 free sampler. Spent 2 minutes with it. Didn't find a browser with preview. Showstopper. then tried Yellow Tools Independence Free. Spent 2 minutes with it. Looked complicated. Then hard crashed Reaper when I tried to remove it from the fx chain. So thanks but no thanks. UVI Workstation is next...
