Recording the scrubber?

Is there anyway to record the sounds made by the Pro Tools scrubber, within Pro Tools? We were playing around with this whispery vocal part with the scrubber, and were getting some crazy sounds we wanted to lay down as a bed for another song. I could always just record the main outs and import it back in...but I thought there may be a way to record it "in-house". your thoughts? -ryan

Sounds like that's it. Unless you can use another sound card. I messed around for a while, and I can't find a way to do it staying in ProTools. -Olaf

ashenvy, Not sure about recording the Scrubber, but to get the same effect, you should try the De-Fi plugins. They're on the Digi download page(I think under Software)..... going from memory, it includes the Recti-Fi, Sci-Fi, and best of all, the Vari-Fi plugins. The Vari-Fi takes any piece of audio and either slows it down to nothing, or vice versa, like an analog tape slowing down(or speeding up). I've used it to record some killer samples. serato scratch might be an alternative?

I have been trying to figure out how to record the playback when in half speed mode. It is a cool way to make practice tape for students but all I can do is record it to an external tape player. Any ideas.

i use to record the scrubthing to DAT 16bit; just make sure to quantize to 16 if you are in a 24bit session. afterwards record it back via optical sp/dif (if it doesn't crash on WinXP!) btw, there's a 30d demo version of speed. if you're more into the realtime scrubbing or scratching, try scratch. there's a 30d demo on the serato site. greettzz.
