This is the first of 3 tracks im doing for my new bands debut ep....written and recorded all in reaper of course. This is a rough mix with scratch guitar tracks, id just like to get a bit of outside input, there are a few things i already need to fix, but im going to wait until the proper guitar tracks are done in a week or two... :)
Ha thanks! Im pretty sure the sound you are talking about is intentional, there a few little glitch parts and things in there...some may be more present than others. I suppose a mix of industrial, rock, and electronic? I find it kind of hard to categorise my music, not that im against it, but depending on who you talk to, the genres have very different reference points, for example if i said industrial some people think of marilyn manson and teenybopper goth kids....i think of ministry and skinny puppy. Same with pop, i dont sound like anything on commercial radio, but i love pop songwriting... Thanks though, im going to re-post this and more tracks once ive tweaked them a bit.
Thanks a lot for your input! I was trying to avoid a "crushed" sound thats something i will take a look at, im adding some synth bass and proper guitar tracks on the weekend, as well as tweaking the mix quite a bit...ill post a new version asap. Thanks!
Great sounds. Lots of very creative stuff: the kind of reverso/noise cymbals early in the piece, that real low tone that swells up about a third of the way through. Nice finish with that arpeggiated line at the close. Great dynamic changes -which really kept my interest up, and a solid hook for the chorus. And sheesh, you've got some cool sounds going for scratch guit tracks. rock ON.
Wow thank you very much! Im in the process of making some changes to the mix, and the guitars are also being recorded over the next couple of days, im pretty happy with the sound, its four different instances of sims, mostly freeware with impulses, as well as amplitube, with some serious eq'ing courtesy of ReaFir. ive got two more tracks ill be uploading soon too, but they need a bit more tweaking before i do.... Cheers :)
