pro tools or vs2480

now that i've spent my entire day at work researching prices, i see that i would spend the same amount of money on a G4/digi 001 combo as i would on a roland vs2480. very different creatures, i know, but can someone help me decide?

you'll end up spending more on the G4/001 combo, as there are all the "unseen" things you end up needing to buy.... that said, i'd still vote for the 001. big screen, great software, upgradable to a big studio, and you get a computer that with some intelligent partitioning (which i got someone to do) you can use for other things. 001 all the way -- i ain't never looked back, and i was considering a Korg not unlike the Roland when i opted to for the "big rig". peace, t.d.
