MIDI editor multiples lanes.. ummm

Great so far! I just wish it was simpler to select which channel new notes are drawn in. Like a check box or something in the toolbar, or in a right click menu.

You can leave the filter window open and use the dropdown there.

Could we have actions to draw to a midi channel. This would fit in with Reaper's rapid enviroment, and would make it so easy.

checkboxes and dropdown menus are clunky, lets get direct feedback. I think I want to see the numbers 1 - 16 on the toolbar..... highlighted numbers are visible channels... highlighted (second color) numbers indicate which channel new notes are drawn on.... A shift click on a number shows / hides a channel click a channel to toggle it to take new notes (or vice versa) and of course key-commands for all of these actions ...and wouldn't it be cool to have the ability to input notes on more than one channel simultaneously!

I would go for the all above, it would be great. +1 Inputting on two channels at once...mmmm, that would be a bit over the top. I can't see the team changing the midi filter now though, much as I agree with your thinking. But the midi actions would mean we could input so easily, hope this will get into 3.

One thing that is wrong with the midi filter is, if you set the channels to all and then set the track to draw to for example to 5, all the other channels vanish. The only way to get them to stay on show, is to check each of the channel boxes one at a time till all appears. I think that if you click all, they should all stay on the editor.
