I was just about to post the same problem when I saw your thread ... Thanks very much man ... you saved my time ... I was going to do all these tests you've done ... but I think they won't be useful ... I've tried only to do field deinterlace ... but I faced ghosting and bleding like you ... DivX isn't really designed to handle interlaced frames so we have to use non-perfect and non-exact methods to even make it work at all. Basically i've just been getting told that and not any alternative deinterlacing techniques just 'use an mpeg format'. Anyways, I dont think this is all we can do and ill keep you in touch if I hear anything outside of this thread.

Hi manono ... Thanks for your reply ... I tested the filter on a small clip ... it did a great job actually ... :cool: ... I have to do some tweaking now ... I used the default settings .... Because if it's ntsc fully interlaced , then it was created at 29.97fps. You Force Film it and you remove 20% of the original frames, and the result is that it plays jerky, or with a noticeable stutter. And that's assuming you know how to determine what the original material is. Have you read and understood ?
if it were to play jerky then why isn't it playing jerky? explain that to me
