Good afternoon. I'm new to reaper. Today I used the feature to cleanup files and deleted a bunch. Apparently I deleted my project. However the data files were in a project data files folder and remain intact. Inside there are many 1 megabyte .au files that contain the audio from my recording. Is there a way to order and reassemble these files... essentially, to rebuild my project? One wierd thing I noticed is that the .au files can be opened using audacity but not inserted into a new Reaper prokect. Thanks, jzero

As far as I'm aware, REAPER does not export .au files. I presume that you recorded those files in Audacity. Open a file in Audacity, then File > Export Audio... (or Selected Audio) and save as WAV Repeat for all .au files Open a new project in REAPER, then drag and drop those WAVs onto new tracks as required.

I'm sure you're right. I forgot that I couldn't figure out how to get an input level control for my USB mic and ended up recording with Audacity. Thanks for the help. (races off to find an Audacity forum...)

You can also use an audio file conversion app to convert them to wav. Max supports au files. The conversion would be lossless.
